Farewell Party

Three months has flown in ! Unfortunately its time to return home .
Of course it will be great , in fact a luxury to have a hot shower and to have electricity 24hours a day and to eat whatever I want, but I will miss Nepal.
The dirt and the chaos , the crazy driving , the wonderful array of people who passed through the Volunteer house , Kalpana our Didi who kept the house spotless and fed a hoard of hungry volunteers every day, the two Michaels who do an awesome job of running "Volunteer Nepal" and "Nepal Orphan Homes" , Lauren who worked tirelessly to rescue the life of an abandoned baby named Ali but most of all I will miss the 19 little faces at OCPFN who lit up my life during my time here. Those children who have nothing but yet never complain and are always smiling. We have a lot we can learn from them....

Thank you to those people who donated and who helped to bring a little bit of enjoyment into the childrens lives . Here are some photos from the farewell party :

Each child got a little bag with toothpaste, toothbrush, pencils, chocolate, biscuits, a watch and then some individual gifts

The girls got a teddy and some undies and socks . The older ones received jewellery and some books

The boys again got some undies and they received some toys guns and cars . The older ones received board games and some books

All kids were so excited over their watches !

Not the prettiest of packing but its the content that counts;-)

Sajan opening up his bag of goodies
Upasana with her schorn locks - its cheaper to shave their heads than pay for a haircut every month

My cool girls

Thank you Nepal . Hope it wont be too long before I visit again !
